Civic Atlas is tracking new Planning and Zoning (P&Z) entitlements across North Texas. One of the most exciting asset classes we're following is data centers. Below we've gathered some of the largest and most impactful data center cases heard by P&Z boards in the past few months.


1. Midlothian: Data Center Rezoning (173 acres)

Location: Forbes Road and V.V. Jones Road

Hearing Date: May 20th, 2025

Case Number: Z31-2024-132

  • Zoning change from Agricultural and PD-164 to a Planned Development for a data center on 173.94 acres.

  • Change from Agricultural (A) District and Planned Development District No. 164 (PD-164) to a Planned Development for a data center on ±173.94 acres on the Radford Berry Survey.
